landis #1
my new sewing machine has arrived. it is new to me, but not to the world. it was originally was pattened in 1893. i spent a whole day getting it cleaned and ready to go. it is quite the thing to see in action.
I have a Landis 1 and it is in very good shape and I have a singer 7 class model 7-11 that is the only class 7 singer with revers I'm told and from what I can tell it is the best example on the planet my great grand father put them in storage just before he went to war WW1 it sat in a crate in our warehouse for 99 years until I inherited them. I had them looked at by my local sewing machine repair man and he seed the singer had been worked to run 7 stitches an inch to a 3/4 inch stitch. So now I started sewing leather and I like it but I would like to trade either one for a modern sewing machine I want a Adler 205 or a Juki 441 cylinder arm or like or maybe even one of the big modern flat beds with revers just call me I can e-mail photos (509) 362-1035 or (509)315-1588 THANK YOU
This is Steve again with the LANDIS 1 and the SINGER CLASS 7. the serial# on the Landis is 1655 and the serial# On the singer class 7 starts with an (N) and that refers to the year 1900 I looked it up. I Shure hope a lover of these old sewing machines will call me and make A good home for one or both of them. My name is steve and you can call me at (509)362-1035 thanks agen.

ReplyDeleteActually the 7-11 is a book binding machine and not really leather machine and does as you say have reverse, rare amongst 7 class machines.
